Partick Thistle 0 - 1 Falkirk
Bairns ended the interest of First Division rivals Partick Thistle in this season's Co-operative Insurance Cup with a 1-0 win at Firhill. It was a tense game with Simon Donnelly going close for the home side in the opening exchanges when he reached a Bryan Hodge corner only to send his close range effort wide.
Jack Compton fired a free kick just wide in what was the only incident in a disappointing first half. We stepped things up in the second half and seconds after Jack Compton had gone close Ryan Flynn fired the Bairns ahead when he scored at the second attempt on 57 minutes.

Falkirk 3 - 0 Stirling Albion
Revenge!
The Bairns displayed a clinical streak to overcome Stirling Albion’s stoic resistance and register an ultimately convincing win.
The players departed to jeers after a goalless first half but stayed true to Elvis' attacking beliefs amid grumbles of discontent from the stands. Bairns patience was rewarded as second-half goals from Marc Twaddle, Mark Stewart and Jack Compton capped off an assured display.
Carl Finnigan rattled the base of a post with Bairns first chance, then Scott Christie, the Bino's goalkeeper, clawed Mark Twaddle’s shot away from the top corner.
Stirling only enjoyed rare forays forward. Yet, one slick attack almost resulted in a goal as Gordon Smith’s flashing header forced a smart save from Boaby Olejnik.
Bairns supporters were growing restless but Mark Twaddle settled them with the opener on the hour-mark. Jason Marr swung over a deep cross and his fellow full-back produced an emphatic finish.
Just 10 minutes later, Bairns killed the game. Mark Stewart picked the ball up on the halfway line and didn’t encounter a single challenge as he ran clear and scored.
The Bino's came close when Martyn Corrigan’s shot crashed off the bar but the Bairns always looked likelier and Jack Compton accepted Ryan Flynn’s sublime pass to guide a composed finish into the corner.

Ross County 0 - 1 Falkirk
Ryan Flynn hit what proved the decisive strike after 36 minutes, Steven Pressley bounded wildly onto the playing surface with pumping fists. It was a show of much the same energy and passion produced by his players, who successfully stifled the Scottish Cup finalists on their own patch until a late barrage of pressure.
Elvis dropped Mehdi Khalis and Jack Compton, while Mark Millar was suspended. In came Marc Twaddle, Carl Finnigan and Kenny Deuchar.
In bright sunshine, there was a real bite and energy to the occasion from the off as play tore from end-to-end. More reminiscent of a cup tie, it was the hosts who almost drew first blood after four minutes. Paul Di Giacomo combined neatly with Garry Wood at the edge of the box, with Wood lashing over from a 15-yard angle.
Both sides toiled hard for an opening but it was Boaby Olejnik who made a terrific save down low from Mark Corcoran's header after 19 minutes. Dr. Deuchar's header had to be tipped from under the bar by Michael McGovern eight minutes later with County on the rack.
Ryan Flynn then sparked wild celebrations among the Bairns management and support after 36 minutes as he lashed the opener low into the corner of the net from 15 yards.
In the second half, County's McGovern did well to save Brian McLean's header from a Flynn free-kick after 55 minutes.
There was no letting up from either side in aggression and running, but the Bairns slightly retained the upper hand.

Bino's win on penalties

24th July 2010
KEEPER Scott Christie was Stirling's hero, producing three penalty saves in this amazing shoot-out victory against The Bairns at Forthbank.
After the team were locked together without a goal to show following extra time, goalkeeper had brilliant stops from Mark Miller, Carl Finnigan and Mark Stewart to put the Binos through 3-1.
The Bairns came agonisingly close to opening the scoring after just five minutes when Miller's header was cleared off the line by Andrew Gibson courtesy of a spectacular overhead kick.
We were clearly in the mood to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and pushed forward in determined fashion. It was largely one-way traffic with Stirling's defending resolute although they were under threat again when Mark Stewart got his head to the ball but his effort was mopped up by Stirling goalkeeper Scott Christie.
Carl Finnigan could only shake his head in disbelief when Christie denied the visitors again in extra-time with a superb fingertip save and there was further dismay as Stewart screwed his effort past the post.
